Opportunities for Participation

The Council of Lutheran Women supports these ministries as auxiliaries of the organization. At each CLW event participants are encouraged to bring items as an “Ingathering” to provide for those in need of assistance that are identified on the individual websites. The items requested will be distributed to the various auxiliaries at the meetings and events of the CLW.

    • Camp Restore Detroit (at Mt. Calvary Church, 17100 Chalmers, Detroit, MI) – http://www.camprestore.org/detroit or http://www.mtcalvarydetroit.org.  Click here for a list of needed items to donated.  Gift cards are appreciated
    • Family of God (7354 Whitaker, Detroit, MI) – Open 6 days every week, evening meals provided by area churches and organizations. At this time a Food Pantry is not being operated nor are they accepting clothing other than socks, men’s & women’s underwear, and winter hats & gloves. They have a Pregnancy Help Center and will take infant items for the Maternity Shop (including Baby wipes and Diapers sizes 4,5,6).     • POBLO (People of the Book Lutheran Outreach) – Study and DVD kit is available for “Witnessing to Muslims,” “Muslim Christian Marriage,” “Love and Truth,” and “Unequally Yoked Project” (dating and marrying a non-believer.)  Items needed are gas cards for our missionaries and volunteers and gift cards from Walmart or Joann Fabrics to buy sewing supplies for our sewing centers.
