The Council of Lutheran Women’s Spring Meeting was on Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 22915 Greater Mack Avenue, St. Clair Shores, Michigan. The meeting was also be available via Zoom. Registration began at 9:15 a.m. followed by opening devotions at 9:45 a.m. Rev. Larry Wright and Mrs. Laura Thomas will share important updates and insight into seminary life.
Information about the Virtual 2021 Council of Lutheran Women’s Luncheon
The 57th Annual Council of Lutheran Women’s Luncheon took place on Tuesday, March 23rd. It has been decided to switch to an all virtual event this year due to the COVID 19 concerns. Humorist Jan Struck will be the guest speaker. We still want to recognize the 2019 WOY that we were unable to honor last year when we were forced to cancel the 2020 Luncheon, plus any new WOY additions submitted for 2020. In addition to the Recognition of the Women of the Year, the annual Luncheon is the main fund-raiser for supporting the Council’s Scholarship Program, two Detroit Food Banks, Operation Layette and an opportunity for an in-gathering of donations for several other area ministries that are also Inter-congregational Members of the Council. The needs for these efforts has not stopped and in some cases has increased.
